FOR2

Creepmeter FOR2 is installed across the localized part of the Cerro Fortuna Fault, where small cracks cut the surface of a gully incised in the fault scarp. Compared to the small normal offset, strike slip displacement seems to dominate in the geological record. Incised gullies are incised deeply into the alluvial fan surfaces indicating a long period of slow or no relative vertical displacement across the fault zone. Nevertheless fresh open cracks indicate recent reactivation, probably in strike slip mode. The fault plane strikes 189° and dips 76° E.
